About us

The Croatian The Journal Leather & Footwear Society is a voluntary professional society of business-capable Croatian citizens and legal entities situated in the Republic of Croatia. Foreigners or foreign legal entities can be members of the Society. The Society acts on the territory of the Republic of Croatia. The Society’s actions are public. The public work is carried out by informing the Society members and all interested media. The Society was founded in 1952 in Zagreb.

• to gather workers and experts of the leather-processing industry with the purpose of launching initiatives to develop professional and creative incentives to improve the organization of work and technological processes in the production of leather, fur, footwear and leather goods.
• to gather all employees and experts for marketing activities of interest in this field.

1. The Journal Leather & Footwear
   The Journal Leather & Footwear has obtained an appropriate affirmation in the area of informing our readers about the most important events related to this profession and has become recognized in this region as the best publication in the field of leather and footwear. As an informative-educational journal, covering to lesser extent the fashion field as well, it gives the opportunity primarily to our members, to place the most important information about their own production, the range of their products and possible marketing (ads, reports). The Journal website has provided a significant increase in the number of readers, which can bring even greater benefits to advertisers.

   The website has been changed and modernized providing a wide range of opportunities for all members and professionals to present their activities and products, or to showcase expert topics from our branch. Also current domestic and international news or activities in field can be presented.
3. Support in the education of individuals involved in this profession
   The Croatian The Journal Leather & Footwear Society cooperates well with the University of Zagreb Faculty of Textile Technology and actively participates in assisting with the organization of studies by informing the manufacturing companies about the educational possibilities. The role of the Society is particularly significant in the study programme of Design and Footwear Technology at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Textile Technology concerning the study unit in Varaždin.
4. Collaboration and constant maintenance of contacts between the Society members and state and other institutions
   This cooperation is needed to achieve the exchange of information relevant to market success, and support in the economy. Constant activity is important for creating a database of statistics and an address book.

The Croatian The Journal Leather & Footwear Society currently has four active boards, through which the Society acts in agreement and cooperation with its members.
