Abstract:
In this paper the influence of drying temperature on the sorption properties of bovine synthetic tanned hydrophobic leather was investigated. The leathers were dried on a vacuum dryer at a temperature of 40, 45, 50 and 55 ° C for a period of 90 seconds after tanning, retanning, dyeing and fatliquoring in a real production process. By examination the moisture absorption, water penetration time and water absorption of the leather during the dynamic movement on the penetrometer, a significant influence of the drying temperature on the sorption properties of the leather was determined.
