Abstract:
Orthopedic footwear is special purpose footwear designed to match the user’s personal footprint with the purpose of facilitating or enabling the user to walk. In the case of a foot disease where a person wears an orthosis on one or both feet, there is also an additional problem of putting on the shoes. In such cases, it is commonly easier for the user to create a larger orthopedic shoe model or a shoe model with a deeper entrance. This paper presents a new approach to molding of orthopedic footwear model which makes putting on easier for the user. The model’s specificity is characterized by a specially shaped back part of the footwear model, which enables easy opening from the rear of the model. In this way, the user can effortlessly put on this innovative shoe model with a slight pull of the back part.
