Abstract:
The idea development of the Editorial Board of the Journal The Journal Leather & Footwear to raise it into the scientific professional status has prompted the need for this paper. The paper gives an overview of the past development of the Journal, the current state and the future perspectives. From the aspect of the historical development of the Journal, as an introduction to the problem area, the paper aims to present the context of launching the Journal, content structure as well as the nature and character of published papers. The present state served as the basis from which the idea ofdirecting the Journal concept to scientific-professional ones was born. Development perspectives are directly related to improving the visibility of the Journal at the international level. Greater representation of scientific papers, open access and indexing in relevant bibliographic and citation databases form the basis for a more promising future of the Journal.
